So, my headcanon is that it starts with Mothma matchmaking her with Wedge. (Because, of course, it’d look so good for Leia to date a Battle of Yavin hero. Han is… completely unsuitable, and Luke needs to be on reserve for another Nice Rebel Girl Or Boy. Plus, Mon doesn’t want Leia with a guy who’s brand spanking new to the Alliance.
She knows Bail and Breha would feel the same way.)
Wedge/Leia works for about three dates until they both realize there’s no physical attraction. They remain bffs, though, and Wedge still shows up on Leia’s arm for the sake of appearances for a while in exchange for Leia introducing him to a certain blonde CorSec agent.
Next, she dates a communications officer who comes along with her on Alderaan survivor relief missions. She finds herself falling for him. He’s sweet and a hardworker, but when she’s meeting with a grandmother who lost all of her children and grandchildren, he doesn’t understand why his girlfriend wants to stay there another day. Don’t they have more important things to do? After all, they’re already behind schedule.
She actually does date an Alderaan survivor-turned-Rebel-spy, in hopes he’ll make her feel more grounded. More like herself. He’s just as passionate as she is in their cause. They have nothing else in common, and Leia realizes, horrified, that she’s just using him.
Actually I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone comment on the fact that in the three years between ANH and ESB, Han Solo has still not firmly committed to the Alliance and has purposefully kept the door open for him to leave at any moment.
But I think this is important because it makes Leia’s attitude towards him in ESB totally understandable and pretty well justified. She doesn’t have time to let herself get attached to some mercenary with a fear of commitment. She’s got a rebellion to run, and if he’s not fully on board with that then she’s not interested.
And I really do think Leia wants Han to get on board with the Rebellion for its own sake, not just stick around because of her. She wouldn’t even consider a relationship with someone who wasn’t as firmly opposed to the Empire as she was - the ideological differences would just be too great.
Now obviously this is all complicated by the fact that Leia totally does care about Han anyway, but the reason she’s not about to admit it isn’t pride or insecurity.
"Some years later, that handsome young man who they called ‘The King’… well he sung too many songs. Had himself a heart attack or something. Must be hard being a king."

We’re majorly psyched for the official premiere of Star Wars Rebels on Friday so why not get pumped up for it by adding a style element or two from the crew of the Ghost to your own look? (We don’t suggest wearing all of these at once. Just two or three maybe.)
Her Universe Rebel Alliance Shirt + BMC R2-D2 Dress + Galaxy Print Tee

"Picture the thing that you want most in the universe."
I have no idea what I’m going to use this for, but friend me/lmk if you want an invite!
I love that point in a friendship when you get what the other person’s style is - their “thing.” You see a knit jersey tie and think of them immediately; a type of weather, a bad movie, a woman’s outfit. You know, with absolute certainty, that your friend would enjoy this thing with you more than anyone else in the world. You feel closer in that moment of recognition, even if they’re not there.
